A big Aussie hello friend. Welcome to Pursuits of God.
Here we love- we love God, we love each other, we love His word.
Here we grow- we grow in our knowledge of Him, we grow in our understanding of how to navigate the world, we grow together.
I am Emily- wife, mum, avid tea-drinker. I like to treasure pretty things but I am learning even more to treasure the God who created the pretty.
I am thankful- thankful for words, thankful for life, thankful for grace- the undeserved love and favour of God. I am amazed that even in the midst of my self-centred sin, God would pursue me through sending His beloved Son to die my death and rise again proving He was and is God.
I am amazed that He now invites me into restored relationship through His Son. I am challenged that I am offered the opportunity to pursue Him through growing in my knowledge of Him and His word.
Here, I aim to share openly and honestly in order that God would get the glory and people would see Him at work in the marvellous and the mundane.
Join the community as we grow in our pursuit of God together.

Children’s Book Review: When Santa Learned the Gospel-Simon Camilleri (Writer), Matt Boutros (Illustrator)

At my Church, we are currently looking at the 5 Solas of the Reformation. It is my week for Sunday School, where I've been needing a summary story of Martin Luther to read to the children (aged 3-6). So, how does one go about finding a story like this? How do we share...read more
Work brings mixed emotions to the surface in all of us. For some, we think of the colleagues we call friends, the enjoyable chats at the lunch table, the stimulating work, the beautiful children we get to raise at home, the fantastic paycheque. For others of us,...read more
We all want to live the good life. It is what everyone is working for; striving for; pursuing. We want enjoyment. We want satisfaction. We want to love and be loved. This time last month, I was setting off on a trip to Sydney (without any kids this year!) to attend...read more
From before the beginning, God had a very good, very wonderful idea. An idea of love, of beautiful diversity and of colourful difference. God had an idea of a family of image-bearers, loving him and loving one another. God's idea is such a good idea. It is a very good...read more
I have always loved rainbows. Singing along to “I can see a rainbow” on PlaySchool when I was a child and now with my children, reminds me of the beauty and brilliance of a rainbow- all the colours, combining to create a wonderful display of creation and of a creative...read more

TGC AU is a website and organisation similar to its US counterpart. This is a great resource for articles written by Aussies tackling current Australian issues from a theological perspective.
“…but his delight is in the law of the Lord,
and on his law he meditates day and night.
He is like a tree
planted by streams of water
that yields its fruit in its season,
and its leaf does not wither.
In all that he does, he prospers.”
